Norman
Evans - "Over the Garden Wall" - Norman Evans provided the original sketch
on which Les Dawson based much of his work - 'mee-mawing' is old Lancashire
weaving slang - in the sheds the girls couldn't hear each other speak due the
noise so they learnt to lip read - of course you can only do that close up, from
a distance you needed to exaggerate the lips and facial expressions - hence 'mee-mawing'.
